Whither the Debate Mr. Hanna? - Part 2

From Time-Warner Cable News: Hanna, Tenney Battle for Votes as Republican Primary Approaches
Time Warner Cable News invited the two candidates to a debate, Tenney accepted the invitation immediately, but it took months before Hanna's office eventually denied the request.
"I'd rather have a straight forward debate with someone from the other party, the Democrat, it would be interesting, it would be fun actually. I've done it many of times. There's value in that, but somebody who just lies to your face, I'm not going to engage that. It's just something I'm not willing to do," Hanna said.
So let me get this straight, there is "value" in Mr. Hanna debating a Democrat, but "no value" in debating another Republican for the right to wear the party's label?

No value to whom, Mr. Hanna? Are we talking about rank-and-file Republicans who must make a difficult choice on June 24? Or are we really talking about the Republican "elite,"  such as the billionaire hedge-fund manager, Paul E. Singer, whose "American Unity PAC"  is funding some of your worst "attack" ads against Ms. Tenney.

As far as "lies," Ms. Tenney could have easily slinged that mud at you, Mr. Hanna, but she has taken the high road and refrained from doing so.  Besides, using alleged "lies" as an excuse for not debating your opponent in a Congressional race is - simply- laughable! Mr. Hanna, do you seriously expect your constituents to believe that everyone you debate in Congress is truthful?  In 2014?  Especially with the current administration? Debating "liars" would seem to be a qualification for the job!

Ms. Tenney has given the voters of the 22nd Congressional District the gift of a "choice" between two experienced politicians with records, each of whom have been tested by re-election.

Mr. Hanna, obedient to his handlers who apparently don't want to risk losing out on the gravy train, would deny rank-and-file Republicans the opportunity of a side-by-side comparison.

Side-by-side comparisons afforded by public debates usually assist voters in determining who the real "liars" are.

Paul Singer and his Unity PAC which is backing Hanna's campaign is nothing more than a vulture capitalist who Hanna ought to be running from. Paul Singer ought to be in prison for his dealings ,but Hanna will say he does not control the commercials on he behalf. Hannah needs to do his homework on this man and distance himself from this PAC.. Hanna the millionaire backed by a VULTUE billionaire .... just perfect!

Boy, if I was a registered Republican I'd run to the polls to vote for Tenney. Hanna has shown his true colors & should be booted out of office by voters. He's no good.

Is it too late to change my party affiliation so I can vote in this primary? Anyone know?

This primary election will certainly be interesting. The Congressman has got to realize that the Democrats will NOT be participating. Notwithstanding, NOT all of the Republicans come out to vote in the primary elections. By not accepting a debate the Assemblywoman will capitalize on the fact that he may be hiding something or is ashamed of his voting record. In order to possibly win over the conservative republicans, who have the tenancy to vote in primary elections, the Congressman really should bite the bullet and risk debating the Assemblywoman.

Voters should notice that incumbents rarely debate, particularly the establishment Republicans of our area. When is the last time Griffo or Picente debated any of their opponents? The local media lets all of them get away with it. If all demanded debates they would happen. They sit silent while those in power stay in power. In Hanna's case, he is terrible on his feet and Tenney would eat him up in a debate. Worse, his ads and those of his rich lobbyist friend, completely misrepresent his and Tenney's records and positions. Let's hope for a Tenney win against all odds.

I agree with Annon with the fact that incumbents rarely debate. But here we see how “money talks.” There is no need to engage in a debate when the deck is stacked in your favor. All too often the incumbent is in command of the election in terms of often rigging the election. They squeeze campaign funds from large corporations and grateful constituents. They also often strategically place Manchurian candidates as their opponents. The Manchurian candidate will be rewarded with a high paying political job nestled somewhere in the shadows of the bureaucracy. But this primary election appears to be a different scenario. The Assemblywoman is no Manchurian candidate.

Still no comments from Hanna on ads on his behalf paid for by the BILLIONAIRE Paul Singer's pac. Hanna must be held accountable and questioned about these ads. The silence from his campaign speaks volumes, I know he can't stop them but that does not stop him being questioned about why he is being backed by Unity Pac and what he knows about Paul Singer.
