Gauging Griffo

As a follow up to the "protractor" post of 3/6, we note that Sen. Griffo has flown into action. His complaint to State Education Commissioner Mills about the faulty devices garnered two stories in local media: here in the OD and here at WIBX.

According to the OD:
"Griffo asked Mills to come up with a solution to the problem, calling the distribution of faulty protractors a "needless" and "unconscionable" mistake."

The WIBX report, however, revealed Griffo's solution to the problem:
"Griffo says he would like correct protractors to be sent out in their place, and to re-imburse taxpayers the 325-thousand dollars it took to produce the defective instruments."

Hmmm . . . . I wonder where he thought the money to reimburse the taxpayers would come from?

Joe Griffo's life has been protracted. Joe should ask his cousin (Anthony Picente) to have Oneida County buy more protractors for use by the Republican party elite.

Perhaps, Joe Griffo could put this up for a public vote to determine who should pay for the protractors. After all, this is typical "noteworthy" news coming from our recently elected Assemblyman.

I wonder when Joe Griffo will do something meaningful or will that take four years? He sure left Oneida County with a mess.

Oh, I forgot, he passed it onto his COUSIN, our newest County Executive. It must run in the family.

WIBX too, must be really desperate for news commentators. Did Joe refer himself as a public speaker?

How about cutting Joe a break? At least he's trying. With due respect, it's easy to sit back and find fault with what someone is doing, but it's tougher to step up and propose some solutions? Rather than badmouthing him, why not write to him with ideas? At least it's worth a try?

I've written to him and did not even get an acknowledgment. I've also written to virtually every county legislator -- no response except from one. The politician's surveys are just window dressing ... they are not interested in what we have to say... only what $$$ we have to give.
