Taking From People . . .

Mohawk Valley Edge is prepared to invoke the powers of eminent domain to essentially force a sale of 55 acres of Farmer's land on Hazard Road, in Marcy; land they say is essential to making the site to which they're trying to lure a nano tech center/chip fab plant more marketable.

"It would make it a lot stronger site," says Steven DiMeo, of the Edge.

Enough is enough. EDGE, Mr. Dimeo, and Oneida County have been given enough time and taxpayer money on this chip fab pipe dream. At one time we had a chance to land one . . . but this crew blew it, allowing Albany area politicians to walk all over us. It is time to move on.

Taking a family farm to make the county site "stronger" is not only nonsense, it is reprehensible.

The EDGE position is untenable. The marketing of the area for the ellusive chip plant has been milked by DiMeo for over a decade with no tangible result. It ias simply a make work project designed to justify the staff and money spent on EDGE. What is that insanity definition about doing the same thing over and over and failing over and over? We have the same people doing the same things with no real results. In the case of the taxpayer, this in insane. Where are our political leaders to stop this nonesense?

Time to put a fork in EDGE, it certainly is done.

This is criminal. Eminent domain is not supposed to be used for commercial development it is for municipal needs. If a chip plant wants to locate there they can go to the landowners directly and negotiate a price for their PRIVATE PROPERTY.

When are we going to get rid of EDGE for their more than a decade of lies and incompetence.

This is why people leave here, their own government works against them and tramples their rights.

Anyone with half a brain knows that the chip plant is dead. Why would a chip plant manufacturer locate here when one is being built 90 mi. away? The whole idea is a farce & is the biggest lie ever put over on the taxpayers of this county.

Wait a second ...... I thought our site was shovel ready.

Shovel of BS is what it is.

Sombody out there needs to investigate what we are paying Demeo and Reynolds in pay, allowances and benefits. That is where the money is going.

The site was advertised as being "shovel ready" in the early 2000s. They lied or did not know what they were doing. Either way is a black eye to the credibility of Oneida County's economic development efforts. It is a reason for those with potential jobs to shun this region

EDGE and OCIDA need to be dismantled.

Amen. There are better ways to promote job development at far greater cost. This should be a primary issue in this year's County Executive election.
