400 Rain Barrels & 300 Trees . . .

400 Rain Barrels & 300 Trees . . . for $720,000, all from a State grant to help sewer issues.

Let's see . . . That works out to more than $1,000 per barrel or per tree!

(It's funny the perspective that a little math will give you on an issue).
(. . . and they say that New York is broke.)

You can't make it up. At first read, I thought the article was a put on. At read three, I was still wondering what the idiocy of it meant. One has to conclude that it's all about someone making money on the taxpayer's back. And, for the state to be $12 billion in the hole while dolling out water barrel tens of thousands defies any definition of fiscal responsibility. Little wonder why people just throw their hands up and leave Utica and the state. This one may make national news. Laughing stocks we are, once again.

Pathetic - all of it. A complete waste of time.

Roefaro makes it sound as if 5 million gallons of water is a huge ammount. 5 million gallons of water isn't going to make one damn bit of difference in alleviating the sewer problem. It's a joke, but some of us know better than to swallow idiotic statements made by morons who obviously are cluelesss. That statement is a good example of why Utica & O.C. is in the shape that it's in. Idiots.

So 5 million gals. of water won't go into the Mohawk River. Pathetic. Stopping 5 mil. gals. of water from going into the Mohawk will have about as much effect on sewer overflows as will dumping 5 million gallons of water into Oneida Lake & expecting the lake level to rise. My God, the future of Utica is in the hands of these people?

The only rational explanation for this project is that someone politically and/or personally connected will make money.
