Gotta Hand It To These Guys !!!

Turning Stone Resort Casino announces $100 million luxury retail outlet, entertainment complex . While MV EDGE is running around like a bunch of losers spending Oneida County taxpayers' money trying to stifle potential competition for Turning Stone from Seneca County,  Turning Stone has moved on to beat any potential competition.

Love 'em or hate 'em, you have to admire Turning Stone's entrepreneurial spirit playing their fair or unfair advantages for all their worth.

Let's face it.  There is no way the Utica/Syracuse market alone could support such an outlet center. Now the well-heeled of the region won't have to travel to Manhattan for luxury items.

This is a PLUS for US.

I agree to give the Oneida Nation credit for being progressive in their economic development endeavors. They should be an example of how to prosper without government cutting deep into business profits. But will government take this lesson to heart? Our governing bodies leach off of the taxpayers, with the ravaging appetite of swine as they firmly place their heads as in the public trough, to cultivate their self perpetuation.

When the Oneida Nation was purchasing real estate and taking it off of the tax rolls, Oneida County government used these circumstances as justification to perpetually raise property, sales and gasoline taxes. They further chastised the Oneida Nation as they imposed a twenty dollar fee on motor vehicle transactions. Oneida County has evolved to become one of the highest taxed governments on the planet. And now that Oneida County is reaping a windfall of income from the negotiated reparations from the Oneida Nation’s enterprises, County taxes and fees have not been reduced by one cent. I can’t wait until election time to vote these bandits out of office!
