It Takes One to Know One?

From the pages of that perpetual propaganda organ, Pravda, in praise of Putin: Obama's Soviet Mistake
. . . Bye, bye Miss American Pie. The Communists have won in America . . .  Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society . . .He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America. His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. . . They read history in America don't they? Alas, the schools in the U.S. were conquered by the Communists long ago and history was revised thus paving the way for their Communist presidents.
Russia lost its' civil war with the Reds and millions suffered torture and death for almost 75 years under the tyranny of the United Soviet Socialist Republic. Russians survived with a new and stronger faith in God and ever growing Christian Church. The question is how long will the once "Land of the Free" remain the United Socialist States of America? Their suffering has only begun.
There's a lot more in this rambling article. I only posted portions to give you a flavor. While not inclined to pay attention to Pravda or believe it, there is a lot in this article that rings true to those who grew up in the Soviet era. If we don't learn from history, we will repeat it.

The Russians seemed to have learned . . . and they are warning us.

If Obama was such a "socialist" or even the "Muslim" that your side had a third of the country believing. would he not have used the recent crisis in the Middle East to nuke Israel instead of taking their side? Would we not have an actual socialized government, which is far from the "communism" of the USSR?

Come on, you guys were very successful at propaganda. You actually got one third of the country to believe that he is Muslim, another third to believe he wasn't born in America. Yet he still won in a landslide. Don't you think it's enough of the conspiracy theories on both sides?

It's not *my* conspiracy theory, anonymous. The article is from *Pravda.* Wake up and smell the coffee.

Yes, a communist propaganda rag that is mad because Obama is NOT the communist that they wished for. Their comment about an illiterate society was actually directed to ALL Americans. It's what they think of us and always have.

They clearly show that they hate his strong stance against radical terrorism and communist sympathizers. If anything, this should make the right a little more comfortable with Obama.

Now the right wing has resorted to quoting Pravda. What's next, a take on Obama's presidency from former KBG agents?

The point of the article has nothing to do with conspiracies. No sane person could deny Obama's commitment to, and belief in, income redistribution and government ownership of most apspects of our society. That is socialism under any definition. The entire thrust of communism as instituded in Russia and Eastern Europe was the Marxist belief in the benevolence of government control. Does anyone doubt that the path we are on has this ring to it?

Sometimes I wonder if "Strikeslip" is not, in fact, a nom de plume for several people.

Because the rigorous, fact-based, sober empiricism of some of the articles is at odds with the occasional crackpot "new world order" stuff that pops up.

Yes, there's a familiar ring to ideas in the story, just as there always is in any propaganda. Yes, we should be careful as we move forward. Yes, President Obama is a liberal. Yes, we might want to consider putting a filter on Strike's browser.

But Pravda? C'mon, folks. These are the same people who told us not so many years ago that Russia invented the solar system and sliced bread as well. Pravda served the vanity of a bunch of ruthless thugs who paraded around as representatives of the people. Next we'll be listening to Castro tell us that his insightful ideas won the hearts of the Cuban people more so than murdering those who were against him.
